Proverbs 24:30, 33-34 ESV
I passed by the field of a sluggard,
by the vineyard of a man lacking sense,
A little sleep, a little slumber,
a little folding of the hands to rest,
and poverty will come upon you like a robber,
and want like an armed man.
I find the Bible understands men more than they understand themselves. We are tempted to think: a little sleep, just a little more... Those littles add up and the day is gone. Not working means the lazy person will be in poverty and want.
A lazy person lacks sense and wastes time. Every moment is precious, every minute counts. As time is the building block of time, the one who makes the best of his minute makes the best of his life.
