Genesis 1:22 ASV How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? And scoffers delight them in scoffing, And fools hate knowledge?

According to the Bible, there are three kinds of fool: The simple who lack of understanding The scoffers who scoff at advices & instructions The fool who hate teaching & knowledge The Bible offers the teaching & knowledge of God. The Holy Spirit, our Counsellor, gives us advices and instructions from God. By fearing God & giving ear to Him, we will have His Wisdom, which is pure, peace, and give us benefits without side effects

Proverbs 1:4 ASV

To give prudence to the simple, To the young man knowledge and discretion:

Proverbs is a book in the Bible which aims to give wisdom of God to His believers. This verse names 3 aspects of wisdom: prudence, knowledge and discretion, which God calls His people to receive them, especially the simple & the youth.

How to receive the wisdom of God? The nearby verses instruct it clearly - by fearing God, receiving His Word, and taking it to heart. The blessings of obtaining wisdom of God are highly praised in this book & many other places in the Bible: avoiding evils, long life, honor, wealth, peace, joy, love & loved...

John 15:16 ASV

Ye did not choose me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that ye should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should abide: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

This cetera stroke me with an idea that bearing fruit of the Spirit and having our prayers given. Answered prayers are not the reward of obeying God and bearing fruit, however, the more we obey & bear fruit, the closer we are to Him, the easier we pray & receptive to His direction, thus having our prayers answered.

George Miller, a man who recorded 50,000+ answered, wrote that answered prayers are about discerning God's will, not about what we pray

John 15:8 ASV

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so shall ye be my disciples.

The verse tells us that God is glorified when we bear much fruit of the Spirit - love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness, self control. And when we bear much fruit, we shall be recognised as a disciple of Christ, a person who learn from Christ and do according to His teaching.

Psalm 150:2 ASV

Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness.

Whenever I think about God's work in my life and other people, about the wisdom in His Word, and about the beauty & the wonder of His creation, I can't help but praise Him for all these things.

Praising Him is very important habit for Christian. By recognising His mighty deeds, His excellent greatness, and His lovingkindness for us, we become more trusting in Him, and more faithful in obeying His commands and relying on His providence

Psalm 149:4 ASV

For Jehovah taketh pleasure in his people: He will beautify the meek with salvation.

People use many things to adorn themselves to make them standing out, from good clothing, cosmetic to style and work title. It stroke my mind that God uses salvation to beautiful his people. The meek are usually background people, but God's salvation, and its fruit - the fruit of the Spirit - makes them the salt and the light in this world

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage."

This verse reminds me of how God's peace is different from the world's peace. God's peace comes from faith and hope in His loving kindness, that He will sustain us and make things work for our good in the end. The world's peace comes from wealth, position, competition and being in comfort zone. Trusting in God's word and His peace free us from our reliance to all these and help us be at peace without them.
