Ephesians 2:18-20 ESV

For through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,

The church is the community of believers, of saints, of fellow heaven citizens, of members in the household of God. We have many things in common: Jesus Christ as our savior, God as our father, the Bible and the work of the apostles & the prophets as our guiding words. Therefore, we are not strangers and aliens. We are brothers and sisters, and we ought to think and behave as such.
