Matthew 7:13-14 ESV

Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.  For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

When it comes to the following God, we need to actively seek God, learn from His Word and personally responsible for our progress. We need to learn from others, but we must not blindly following them & let them let us astray. The popular way, easy, wide and crowded may feel safe & right, but it maybe deceiving and lead to death. The small and hard way may seem strange and unnecessarily troublesome, but it leads to life.

Thus we need to personally responsible for our walk with God, learn from others, but discern the right from wrong and do not let them lead us astray. The right way may be small and hard and lonely, but it is the way to life.
