Ephesians 3:16-17 ESV

that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith

God can strengthen our inner being - our heart, our spirit and our soul - through His Spirit. Therefore, when we feel weak, when we lose heart, when our soul faints within us, we must pray to God to strengthen us, give us power through the Holy Spirit to deal with the trial or the temptation. Our best way to deal with difficulties and temptations is not willpower, but prayer and faith. As we sincerely pray and earnestly seek Him, God promises to hear us and be with us.

God dwells with us through faith. Faith is the channel through which we commune with God and receive power from Him. Through faith, we believe God exists and hears our prayer. So we pray with the expectation that God will answer us, and act in trust that He will make things work out according to His will.
